Terms of Service

The service

CPAPath is a self-serve preflight tool that maps a transcript you enter against publicly published Texas CPA education requirements. It runs in your browser and produces guidance only.

Not an official determination

CPAPath is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) or any licensing authority. Every result is non-authoritative. TSBPA alone decides whether you meet the requirements, including whether a specific course's content counts. Always verify with TSBPA before relying on a result.

Rule currency

Rule thresholds encoded in the tool are provisional and pending expert verification. Requirements change (for example, rule changes effective August 1, 2026). We cite each rule's source and last-verified date, but you must confirm the current rule applies to your situation.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of the courses you enter and for any decision you make based on the report, including applying to sit for the exam or for licensure. CPAPath does not assess course content or make content-equivalency decisions.

Anonymous plan links

The optional “Save & continue later” feature stores the course list you entered under a random link id for 60 days, with no account or email. Anyone holding that link can view the saved list — treat it like a paper copy. Do not save a list you would not share; saved links delete themselves after 60 days.

Payment & access

The paid report is a one-time digital product sold through Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record, which handles payment and tax. Access is tied to a verified paid order; the order number and checkout email can be used to unlock a browser. See the Refund policy for revocation terms.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CPAPath and its operators are not liable for any damages — including application denials, delayed licensure, lost wages, or course expenses — arising from your use of, or reliance on, the tool. The tool is provided as-is, without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Changes

We may update these terms and the encoded rules as requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in the rule version shown on every report. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on our guide pages are affiliate links: if you purchase through them, the provider pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence our verdicts, hour math, or any number the rule engine produces — the tool, the report and the engine contain no affiliate content and never will. We only link providers we would describe accurately in the same guides. Current programs: Becker CPA Review (via Yazing).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
